The Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team (RI DMAT) is strongly committed to protect the privacy of registrants of the RI Responds platform to the extent allowable under applicable Rhode Island law. RI DMAT wants to contribute to provide a safe and secure environment for users.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you, as a user of the Site or as a user of any Site content, the type of information the RI Responds platform will gather from users and visitors of the Site, how RI DMAT may use that information, the disclosure policy, user's right regarding RI Responds' use of information, and user's ability to revise or update information. This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and any information collected through this Site, and not to any other companies' or organizations' Web sites to which this Site links.
Information About All Site Visitors
In general, this Site automatically gathers certain usage information, such as the number and frequency of visitors to the Site. RI DMAT only uses such data in the aggregate. This aggregate data helps RI DMAT identify portions of the Site with greatest traffic volume, thus RI DMAT can improve the Site and maintain the appeal and accessibility to as many users as possible. The Site uses a technology called "cookies" that tells RI DMAT how and when pages in the Site are visited and by how many users. RI DMAT may partner with other organizations (i.e. Professional Associations) to recruit volunteers through those organization's websites. Under such circumstances, RI DMAT may provide aggregate statistical information to those partnering organizations to indicate the number of volunteers recruited via partner Web sites. This reporting is entirely statistical (e.g., the number of volunteers recruited), no lists of names of specific volunteers solicited at a given partner's site. Most browsers are initially set up to accept "cookies." Users may reset their browser to refuse all "cookies" or to indicate when a "cookie" is being sent.
Disclosure of Personal Information
When registering as a volunteer health professional in the RI Responds system, volunteer registrants agree to provide personal identifying information and professional credentials (collectively, Registration Information). RI DMAT collects, uses and maintains this Registration Information in implementing the states Emergency Response Plan. RI DMAT does not use the Registration Information provided by volunteer registrants to the Site except to the extent described in the Site's Terms of Services. RI DMAT does not disclose any Registration Information provided by volunteer registrants to the Site except to the extent that such disclosure is required pursuant to relevant state or federal laws. Request of disclosure of highly sensitive personal information will only be done in accordance with relevant state or federal laws. In additional, as described above, RI DMAT may share aggregate statistical "ratings" information about the use of this Site with Web site partners.
Site Privacy Policy Changes
If changes are made to this Privacy Policy, RI DMAT will post those changes here so that users will be informed as to what information is collected, how it is used and whether such information can be disclose.
